I have fair skin, long dark brown hair and hazel eyes and I would like to try it for a change.

I would like to cut it very short, also.

Do you think I should do it? Do you have any pics?

DO use different tones of blond in all different thickness and in random spots. I've had sun bleached hair my whole life and I've noticed that my hair color has different shades of blond. There are the shocking beige colors, the honey colors and the dirty blond colors but they all come together and make me simply blond. However it's not too overwhelming for my appearance nor my hair's health. If you go bleach blond it will hurt your hair and you will have to care for it a lot more. High lights are damaging but more manageable. Thick chunks are too amateur and just plain out of style. So get lots of different colors and shades and play it up. Good luck.

I say bleach blonde, I think bleach blonde is hot especially with your description hazel eyes, fair skin, if you get bleach blonde I think a few highlights would set it off like BAM! =]]

If you have dark hair and are craving the bleached platinum look, get lots of highlights, I said lots of highlights, not thick. Thick highlights are out! Natural hair has many colors, there is not a natural bleached color. Since you have dark hair, maintenance will be much easier to get your highlights touched up, and you won't have ugly brown roots growing out, well at least they wont be as noticeable. I think your hazel eyes would be very pretty with lighter hair, they'll lighten up a bit, and they'd stand out more and appear darker with your dark hair. Cut it short, but not too short, you'll miss your hair, if you like it short, than cut some more off later. Go for it, it's just hair, it will grow back!

No! I don't know how many times I see other girls make that mistake. Dying dark brunette hair blonde is a long process to even get it right and it ends up turning out bright orange or a horrible gold if not done right.

The highlights thing is probably a bad idea as well. It really contrasts itself, but if you like how it looks in these pictures, go for it. It's your hair, not mine:
