If I get my hair highlighted in the next couple of weeks should it last the entire summer?

I have been thinking about having my hair professionally highlighted for a new summer look but don't know how long it will last. Is there any special care that goes along with having highlighted hair? My hair is a light brown/blonde color.

I would appreciate it if anyone has some helpful hints or thoughts. Does it require upkeep also?

if your hair grows fast, dont get highlets you'll have 2 get them every 2 or 3 months, and that can be expensive, if your hair grows at a normal rate, go get em.....i have em and luv em!

yes it should last--- i got my hair highlighted this time last year, and the highlights are still noticeable, basically you just have to use shampoo specific for colored treated hair and thats basically it

it depends on how fast ur hair grows..but always use shampoos and conditioners that are made for color treated hair so that the color stays longer and doesn't fade.

Nope, they grow out and as fast as your hair grows out, thats when the roots will show and then you will look like a half head highlighted chica. Not much upkeep, just color maintenance.

If you get highlights, it will require some upkeep such as conditioner for whatever color highlights you get. It will last about 2 and a half months, and the color will still be in your hair, but your roots will be a different color. I do highlights every 3 months, and my hair is probably about the same color as yours. Have fun with it!

i think it should last you the whole summer...for me they start to fade in 4 months at the most and i have to get them done again

just make sure you condition your hair and you might want to use shampoo that is for highlighted hair and a spray that protects against heat damage from straightening irons, curling irons, and blow driers

If you're going to get your hair highlighted, you are going to have to maintain it. Meaning that when there is new growth, you have to have it re-touched, or you're going to have dark roots. Depending on the color of blonde you go, the lighter the blonde, the more noticeable the re-growth.
