Yeah, I know none of these pictures are that great at illustrating what I'm imagining, but they're close enough.

I say yesyesyes do it. Winter's coming and warmer colors look much more natural in the colder seasons.

Yes, and because you are blending another color in, it makes your highlights last longer if the lowlight is closer to your normal color.
