uuuuu yep, they damage the hair and roots real bad and can cause dryness and breakage and then you wont have any hair to dye

No. Lightening your hair tends to cause damage, making the surface of the hair rougher. Consequently your hair reflects less light, looks less shiny, and has more volume. Darkening your hair tends to smooth the hair shaft and make your hair look shinier. Peroxide-free products aren't damaging.

Yeah because one of my friends has dyed his hair a color so many times it's starting to turn gray in some spots, and he's 13.

Coloring your hair is not bad its the bleach that causes damage. coloring will condition your hair. Bleach will cause your hair to become dry and straw like. My friend is a hair dresser.

The peroxides, aniline derivatives and bleaching agents totally toast the hair. You need conditioner all the time after and it will break off a lot if it's really bleached.

somewhat. I am a hair dresser. I see people up to three times in two months come in and get highlights and end up with great hair. I also learned that people with thicker hair tend to have more damage because their hair follicles are larger. It will be less damaging to you to get highlights if you have thin hair.

When you dye your hair, there are a lot of chemicals that get into each strand making it weaker each time. Bleach is the definate worste, Permanants bad too. even semi permanant is still bad. Go for temporary, because there is no color lift. They, and also color rinses just ley over the hair... good luck, and stay natural

i got light highlights a few years ago and my hair was very healthy, but then i progressively kept getting it done to where it was very light (that's what ruined it)

so now i know that my hair can't handle all that bleach so i don't lighten it any more. (every body's hair is different, so yours might not react the same way, but just be fore-warned of the possibility's)

Are all dyes and highlights damaging to the hair; even just a little?

Yes they are because you put chemicals in you hair... which will eventually damage it.... maybe by turning it white...

Are all dyes and highlights damaging to the hair; even just a little?

yes they are. none of them are good for your hair. thats why my hair is natural!!
