Hi guys!!! I'm lookin for highlighting kit for home use... meaning e cap n hook... cos i'm always sporting a short hair cut n it does not make sense to go to salons regularly to touch up... anyone know where can i buy in Singapore?

Where can i find hair highlight kit in Singapore?

You can probably try stores such as Watson's or Guardian. There are quite a few of these all around Singapore, mostly within a shopping mall. Supermarkets such as NTUC Fairprice or Cold Storage may also carry highlighting kits.

if you cannot find a highlight kit you can always buy a fresh lemon squeeze out juice and place on strands to be lighted and blow dry with hair dryer or put on before going out into the sun.

If I get my hair highlighted will I still be able to donate it to charity?

I am trying to grow my hair out to donate it. It is getting pretty long but I was thinking of highlighting it for the Christmas Season. Would I still be able to dontate it if I do?

If I get my hair highlighted will I still be able to donate it to charity?

From the Locks of Love website...

Hair may be colored or permed, but not bleached or chemically damaged (if unsure, ask your stylist).

If I get my hair highlighted will I still be able to donate it to charity?

My sister highlights her hair and she has donated to Locks of Love. Just make sure it's long enough.

yes, and how very kind of you!

of course!!

What are some tips for before going to get your hair highlighted and after?

im going to get my hair highlighted tommorow, and i was wondering what are some tips? for instance should i not wash my hair the day before? or the day after? stuff like that. thanks

What are some tips for before going to get your hair highlighted and after?

Wash your hair and don't use any product, spray, mousse, gel, NOTHING. No hair products at all, at least 24 hours before having the procedure done. The reason for this is that the natural oils in your hair help the chemicals to work better on your hair, and hair products will create a barrier and keep them from working.

After the procedure wait another 24 hours to wash and style your hair so your hair can have a chance to relax.

Use lots of conditioner and less hot styling with treated hair to prevent damage.

Highlights are so much fun for summer, aren't they?

My 14 year old wants her hair highlighted is she too young for this?

I know many of my daughters friends have their hair highlighted but, I'm not sure if this is an appropriate age. She will be 14 in 2 weeks. My mom did not let me dye my hair until I was 16.

My 14 year old wants her hair highlighted is she too young for this?

I think highlighting her hair would be ok at this age. It's only hair, it can be cut and grow back.

My 14 year old wants her hair highlighted is she too young for this?

14, yea, people at my school highlight their hair, most of my classmates are 14.

My 14 year old wants her hair highlighted is she too young for this?

As the saying goes, choose your battles wisely. How does highlighting her hair compare with piercings, drugs or sex?

My 14 year old wants her hair highlighted is she too young for this?

Many kids these days are highlighting/dying their hair these days. I say she is old enough, but I think she should use a product like this stuff called sun-in. It gives your hair more natural high-lights and isn't quite as dangerous as some products out there.

My 14 year old wants her hair highlighted is she too young for this?

Talk to her and make sure she wants in done then talk to the stylist make sure that she can and then go for it shes only going to live once right!

My 14 year old wants her hair highlighted is she too young for this?

Getting your hair highlighted can't cause any harm! I got mine done at 13 I think... I say let her do it! All it will do it make her feel better about herself. And tell the lady doing it that you want it to be very subtle... she's 14 and you want her to still look her age! I've seen some really cute highlights girls! I know I loved mine at that age! I only wish I had the money to get it done, now!

I say give it to her as part of a birthday gift! She'll really like it, it's fun to go get your hair done for little girls!

My 14 year old wants her hair highlighted is she too young for this?

i figure it's her hair let her highlight it! no big deal, now tattoos and lip piercing is where I'd draw the line.

My 14 year old wants her hair highlighted is she too young for this?

you should ask in the adolescent group you will get more answers there, but yes let her highlight her hair it won't harm her and it will just boost confidence i say go for it!

My 14 year old wants her hair highlighted is she too young for this?

She definitely isn't too young. I was a freshman in high school when I first started highlighting/coloring.

Just lay down rules that you both can live with. For example: You both decide together what kind of highlights she is going to get - before you get to the salon. You be there when she gets it done, to supervise.

Another way to maybe squash the idea - if you really want to - is tell her that you will pay for haircuts, but since it is a luxury that she doesn't really need, she is responsible to pay for it. Or, you can give it to her as a birthday or Christmas present.

i think it's fine..but ur doing ur job as a good parent, concerned for ur child. btw i love how u put it into the toddler and preschooler section.

My 14 year old wants her hair highlighted is she too young for this?

Honestly, those two years won't change anything too much. It's not really an age limit thing, it's more of the worry of the damage done to her hair. Once you get into the habit, it's hard to break. . . .

My 14 year old wants her hair highlighted is she too young for this?

i think you should wait until she is 15.Especially if it is an irregular colored highlights that you dont want her to have on her hair.why is this in the toddler section?

My 14 year old wants her hair highlighted is she too young for this?

That閳ユ獨 a tough call. A lot of people have answered here that they got highlights that young, and I bet it閳ユ獨 pretty common. However, at 13 my friend閳ユ獨 niece started getting crazy expensive highlights (and maintaining them), wearing full make-up, fake nails, getting her eyebrows waxed and wearing very adult clothes (not skimpy, just very grown-up). It was just sad to see this barely teenaged girl saddled with all this stuff so young.

Your daughter has the rest of her life to be a woman, but only a few teenaged years. I閳ユ獓 say it閳ユ獨 probably okay to let her do this, but make sure she閳ユ獨 not getting carried away.

I would make and agreement with her like she has to keep her room clean for 2 weeks or not listen to music for 1 week then if she really want her hair highlighted she will be willing to give up listening to music or not watching TV.

I have had my hair highlighted with bleach at the weekend but i hate it.?

Is there any way that i can dye it back to brown? Will I need to visit a hairdresser as i paid a lot of money to have my hair highlighted so can't really afford another trip to the hairdresser.

I have had my hair highlighted with bleach at the weekend but i hate it.?

The best thing for you to do if you do not want to go back to the salon to complain is give it a couple of days to see if it grows on you. If it doesn't, use a semi-permanent "rinse" that is the same color as your natural hair. It will cover the highlights. I wouldn't suggest permanent color because it can cause serious damage to your hair.

I have had my hair highlighted with bleach at the weekend but i hate it.?

Yes sorry to say but you will have to visit your hair dresser!!! Or else if you dye it yourself... it may go really wrong and then itll cost a hell of a lot to get it back right.

Plus if you do anything yourself you may damage your hair.

I have had my hair highlighted with bleach at the weekend but i hate it.?

its not good to dye your hair a lot but if you really hate it you could dye it all over brown again from a bottle. after that id leave it a while before you bleach it again. the bleached bits might fade as well and you will probably need to re dye it every few months. if you ain't sure what one to use ask a hairdressers advice

I have had my hair highlighted with bleach at the weekend but i hate it.?

i saw your hair yesterday when you were running into your car,and i dont like it either ;)

I have had my hair highlighted with bleach at the weekend but i hate it.?

I suggest you go back to the same hair dresser. You are not very happy with the result of the last outing and need some fix work... It should cost less if anything...

Yes the hair can be dyed back to brown.. You have to be careful in the next few months.. you want to condition as much as possible because hair loss might be the result of all the over bleaching and re- dyeing.

cheers..

Really unfortunate. I sympathise you for such an act on your part. Who told you highlight yourself by highlighting your hair!

However, please wait, after a few weeks your hair will grow. Trim it then and gradually all the highlighted ones will disappear by natural highlighting.

One thing - , Are you of too fair skin. Then go for making the hair brown. Otherwise, it will not highlight you; rather diminish your personality.

It will not be out of place to remember that any kind of bleaching in hair tells upon the stability of hair, which, in the long run, will be brittle and break causing baldness.

I have had my hair highlighted with bleach at the weekend but i hate it.?

If you want to do it yourself you will have to dye it red before you die it brown. If you put brown straight onto it it may go green.

You could try a shader which might tone it down such as Harmoney pearl or ash blond. Get one for a blonde shade.

Also if it is bright it will dull down after a few weeks anyway.

Oh and by the way it will not make you bald if you keep bleaching it that is rubbish. It may go dry and brittle but it will not make you bald.

I have had my hair highlighted with bleach at the weekend but i hate it.?

If you really don't like the bleach, be careful not to do anything drastic. Ring the hairdresser and tell them what you have done and seek advice, or go to a chemist and see what colours you can use - always choose something lighter than your natural colour, and always read the instructions on the box of hair dye.

I have had my hair highlighted with bleach at the weekend but i hate it.?

If u are going to dye it yourself , dye it red 1st , everyones hair has red undertones and then dye it the colour u want to go back to .. otherwise it will end up going green ..

I have had my hair highlighted with bleach at the weekend but i hate it.?

I once had a major disaster with bleaching my hair, a friend did it for me and my hair ended up white (it started mid-brown!!) no hairdresser would touch it as they said it was far to brittle and if it all broke and fell out I could sue them. Anyway, that's a worst case scenario. I reckon you are pretty safe to dye yours back if you don't like it. Though be sure to choose your original colour carefully and also make sure it's a permanent colour, as any less will not be strong enough and may turn green (happened to me as well!!) as the hair is pourous when bleached and sucks the colour in!

Wouldn't worry about dying/bleaching too much just think how many people get theirs done every 6 weeks!! a couple of times isn't going to do too much damage. plus, darkening hair is adding to it, bleaching is stripping something away so you're really doing your hair a favour if you dye it back!! good luck!

I have had my hair highlighted with bleach at the weekend but i hate it.?

dye it back dark, try a light brown shade, with no amonia. Be warned though anything darker than light brown will stick like mad and will be really dark!

if its not how you both agreed and looks awful, you should go back to the hairdressers they may put atoner on it for free which will either even ont the colour ,add more gold or more ash. it may just be that the shade of blonde isnt right for your skin tone. Also try changing your make up . i wouldnt dye it brown yourself, but you could try and make it more of a darker warmer blonde

with an oval and chubby face...

What hairstyle would fit in a girl w/ an oval,chubby face...and a color/highlights for a long hair...?

Part on the side or no part. Hair should frame the face. Chin length. Ditch the highlights, and let her natural hair color show. She will be prettiest if she isn't trying to cover up who she is.

What hairstyle would fit in a girl w/ an oval,chubby face...and a color/highlights for a long hair...?

Try a side part with side swept bangs that end just under the largest part of your cheek (usually between the cheekbones and jaw). This creates a diagonal angle over your face that is slimming. For the rest, do long layers.

do curly..with str8 bangs..

How do I cover up roots when I have my hair highlighted and colored and can't get into see my s

I have my hair professionally highlighted and colored. I have a big event that I will be attending this weekend and I need a quick fix to hid my roots. Am I crazy for thinking about picking up a box of temporary hair color to brighten up my hair and get rid of the roots? Will this make it difficult for my stylest to do my hair next time?

How do I cover up roots when I have my hair highlighted and colored and can't get into see my stylist?

I hate it when people say to not dye your own hair because it never comes out...I've dyed my own hair for over a year and I get complimented on it! You can dye it yourself, just make sure you've got plenty of time to do it...you wouldn't want to be rushed. Follow the directions carefully, and just make sure you soak all of your hair....Or! if you're worried about getting the back as even as the front, ask a friend to help! No biggie. I suggest buying Feria dye or another dye that promises highlights- this will work with your already highlighted hair to give you depth and dimension rather than one, all-over color (that CAN look really fake)

If you don't want to do it yourself, I suggest thinking of a hairstyle that breaks up your part (that is, don't make your part in one, straight line). Go for a zig-zag part or pouf your bangs back with bobbi pins... a broken part makes roots less noticable because you see roots at random intervals instead of just in one place. Good luck!
